I just realized how handicapped Yoshi technically was here He got his ass handed to him on a silver platter by Mecha and had to recover in bed, and most likely didn't get that chance because he's seen on Yoshis island saving Mario from the chief, so, unless he got some unknown healing source from somewhere, Yoshi probably could've hit way harder than he did there.

Gotta respect Mario, he was the only one to harm Mecha Sonic here. Even Shadow with his chaos abilities could only just keep up with Mecha. That’s probably why in the cave fight, Mecha Sonic prioritises taking Mario out first.

I always wondered why sonic was struggling to hit mecha sonic in the fight. Then i realized that while sonic is a great fighter and pretty strong in his own right, His main strength is his speed, And mecha sonic was in his super form which basically countered Sonic's main strength.
